The Spiritual Revolution For Change

The Spiritual Revolution For Change

If you wonder why change is the political agenda of the day we need to look at what is happening with our society on the ground. For many years we have felt the repercussions of the poor choices our government officials have made. There is no reason to get into the details as the results show up in our lives daily. It is time for healing, it is time for a change from being deceived and victimized by those who feel they are the privileged few.America has a melting pot of different religions and disciplines. Those who represent us have not done sufficient to bring to bear that faith is the basis of the growth of America from the day it was discovered up to the present. It is on the Judeo-Christian Creeds that this nation was built.America is yearning for spiritual revolution that will bring back the true values that we all hold dear.We are not a country that seeks to invade others and give platitudes that either your with us or against us.What childish reasoning that is.It would not be fair to say that all representatives have not attempted to heal the wounds that were inflicted in the past.It would be fair to say that we have strayed from the common ground of peace and justice for all.We see the evidence of much dialogue on simple issues such as prayer in schools.America was founded on the premise of religious freedom and the freedom to engage in commerce and choice in our own given vocations. It is hard to believe that in the times after the revolutionary and civil wars that our educational institutions had larger amounts of children who were better educated in literacy than what we have in today's society.America was once the strongest country in its faith, education and physical aptitude. That is why many people from all around the world would do anything to come here and experience the freedom to choose. It was and still is the beacon of opportunity for all peoples of the world.Maybe there is something to be said about our progress.During the days where there was no TV our children were forced to read more and learn more. Our families were moved to have dinner together and learn how each member of the family unit was doing and how their day went. Our values now are so skewed that TV educates our children. We no longer find our families having dinner together and our standards in education has fallen behind others countries. Our children see nothing but violence on TV and by the time they reach puberty they have witnessed violence in just about every form known to man.Even parents watching a pee-wee football game can not withhold themselves from coming onto a field and fighting with a referee. What happen to just having a fun game? No it has now taken a different and at times a violent turn.I was watching a "TV Reality Show" and in it was a woman who was single. She wanted to get a new car.She picks up the phone and calls her "papa bear" and states that she must have this new Cadillac Escalade. The reason is not that she doesn't have a car, no; it is because her and her children rode in one and loved the car.She goes to the dealer gets the car of course with a few more added features, calls "papa bear" and then writes a check for over sixty-eight thousand dollars. Then she makes a statement that she hopes "papa bear" will eventually marry her.Maybe she does deserve it, but what message does this send out to our youth? Her children are in formative years what value's is she bringing to the table for them?On the same hand I do see that the Christian or faith based ministries are leading the way to the doing of good works around the world. What is the evidence? Hurricane Katrina, whereby the ministries were the first on scene bringing in food, water and blankets to the resistance of our government representatives. When the Tsunami hit in Far East, who was there immediately to help those people out? It was the Red Cross and the ministries of faith based groups which mobilized faster than anyone else. With the genocide in Darfur, the UN talks a lot and does very little. The Christian and faith based ministries are not about talk, they mobilize to help instead of having dialogue about it.This is why change needs to take hold. Not simply a revival of belief's, but the revolutionary change of our values which is back to basics. This country was founded on our biblical beliefs. Our laws are based off the same.Religion was not the dominant factor of our government operations upon the start of our American Revolution, but it was not viewed as a deterrent to the moral character of this country. If anything religion especially the Christian base was looked at as a positive influence on very difficult issues of the day.We are in a global society, isolationism is not an option. If we are to export anything from the USA it should be compassion, love and ability to work with every country to the benefit of all.We use to know what battles to pick and which ones not to engage in.Now it seems that the line has been drawn in the sand to such an extent that other countries are nervous in dealing with us directly, while others take advantage of our current circumstances. This revolution must start from the inside out.We need to have leaders who are in touch with the roots of our country and its base.America has hit its turning point, and the ministries have started to intensify its positions in the world. The upcoming generations are of the most importance at this time.Who is influencing them? Will they learn compassion? The attitude of my way or the highway must be set aside. It must be replaced by the attitude of cooperation and love that use to be the core of our relationships with others.Inflicting hardships on others is not a necessary way to win friends and influence others.Does this mean we should not be vigilant about our freedom? Of course not, we should defend against anyone seeking to do us harm. Our country and the world are hungry for change. The fundamentals never change, even with our modern technology and society at hand.Revolution starts within every individual, Christian Ministries have realized this.Violence never resolves anything, it only begets more violence. When is enough, enough? To honor God we must do that which pleases Him.It seems that someone tore out the part in the bible that says "Blessed are the Peacemakers.".It is only through our spiritual revolution that we must adjust our attitude from war to peace, from hatred to love, and to bring good news to the world at large.A spiritual revolution is one where we lead by example and the establishment of high standards of excellence. This is not to impose our will on others, but to become that beacon of what is right with America over everything else. This example is in our homes at our jobs and yes it should reflect on our attitude toward others even those who do not believe as we do.The transitional ministries that are rising up are simply amplifying our core values and applying them to our everyday lives. Our spiritual revolution starts with our selves, our families, our communities and our elected officials. The fight between good and evil will continue.Victory is assured through our ability to have faith and to remain united in peace. It isn't up to our elected officials to bring this to us; it is up to us to do it for ourselves. The spiritual revolution is here and now.The faith based Ministries are forming and operating outreach programs, day care centers, after school programs for youth, counseling for men and women. The spiritual revolution is a lifestyle. There are other faith based ministries that are also doing the same.America's problems are not based on what others are doing to us.America problems are based on what we are doing to ourselves. We are not taking care of our youth, we are not taking care of our economy, we are not taking care of our schools and we are distracted by greed and pride. We don't even hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.I recall several years ago some congressman was caught smuggling marijuana from Central America.I don't remember his name, do you why? After his apology to the congress it went silent, not heard of again.Kept out of the limelight, ignored as a minor transgression, yet if that was your child, he would have been placed in prison or on probation for many years. The Spiritual Revolution must be that which brings hope to the world, into our homes our businesses and our government. We are not perfect, we make mistakes, yet we must admit to them and rectify the errors of our ways.If something isn't right correct it, which is as simple as it gets.We need our leadership to stop sweeping the errors under the rug, making excuses and acting as if these things never happened. This behavior is simply unacceptable.I believe in second chances in correcting the error one has made.Confess it and repent, make amends if necessary. But, please do not minimize it or excuse it as a momentary lapse in judgment, especially if it affects a lot of folks. In our Spiritual Revolution it is not that our leadership is infallible, it is that our leadership does the best they can with proper counsel and being transparent about it without hidden agendas. In summary our Spiritual Revolution for change starts with ground based ministries of all faiths and disciplines. The need for right thinking that is biblical based which is the foundation of this great country. We need everyone to change within and support the right things that will lead to effective change in this nation. It is our faith in action that will make for effective change on this planet. We have to win our own hearts and minds first and we do this through our faith. We support our families, communities and leadership for the right reasons. We hold each other accountable for our own actions. This in turn will bring good news to the world; it is simple but not easy.We will have to work on it to make it manifest.
